Which passport do you hold? If you hold an American passport then you are an American Nationality. It just you ethnicity is English.

British. Being born to English parents on British soil makes you British/English. If you were born in America you would be American.

technically, by this society, you would be labled english. but this society sucks. you, as an individual, should be able to choose what u want to identify as, and not let society put u into a box that they decided to force you in. for the second, "american", with an english background

Nationality and ethnicity are two different things...if you're an American citizen, your nationality is American and your ethnicity is English so you can call yourself an American of English descent or you can simply call yourself English or an American. Ethnicity is something that never changes but nationality may change. What the respondent said above me is true too...even if you consider yourself American and you technically are, some people will never consider you American. This is the same in most societies...especially in Europe. If you were born to be something, people will label you that way. I call myself a European-American most of the time and I don't care what people think. I earned my citizenship and had to go through a lot more for it than the people who were born here.

CHICKEN for all I care, what difference does it make - Live a beautiful life instead of being confused about your nationality.

Technically, your nationality is American, because America is where you reside, but since you were born in England, most people here in the US would call you English.
