When Did Eritreans And Ethiopians Start Coming To Live In America?
Eritrea and Ethiopia are both in East Africa, so I know they weren't widely (if at all) taken as slaves to America during the slave trade, but I know and see many of them living here in the Bay Area. So this leads me to my question of when did many Eritreans and Ethiopians start coming to live in America. Thanks for your answers, and insight.

Your right No Ethiopians and Eritreans were taken during the slave trade. Ethiopians Started to come in the 1970s to the us, b/c they wanted to flee away from the communist regime. Both my parents came in 1970s too. Eritreans started to come during the 1980s to escape from their evil ruler Isais Afeworki.

Fuck off muchacha. There is no problem in our country with issais afewerki. It is just eritreans and ethiopians started to flee when the 30 year war began in 1960s and when the people that fled started making money and send back home to build houses and so. The rest of the people living in eritrea and ethiopia started to flee as well in order to make money because both countries are in the top 10 poorest countries in the world. No body likes their president this days but that is not the whole fact. The truth is that they can make money in US or Europe in a month that they can do in Ethiopia and Eritrea in 2 years. That is the biggest thing the rest is just to hide the fact that they are money driven mogrants. They say in US they fled because of the government because that is the only way the us government can grant them asylum.
