How Much Money Does It Cost To Live In America For 1 Year

How Much Money Does It Cost To Live In America For 1 Year?
How much money would it cost to live in America for a year? I plan to rent an apartment. I'm just talking about the basic needs, such as clothes, food, rent, utilities, transportation, etc.

To live like a human, $ 12.000 a year minimum.

It depends on the area of the country and how well you want to live, obviously you can live off a small amount but your quality of life would be much less if you were in New York city where your rent would be sky high as opposed to living in a poor state like Mississippi. Example: rent could be thousands of dollars in New York but only two or three hundred in Mississippi.

It depends on where you want to live. I would suggest more like $20,000 if you are paying rent, utilities, etc. However, there are cheaper options. If you will be in an area where there is a marina you might be able to live quite comfortably on someone's sailboat very inexpensively. When we lived on our sailboat in the US we were able to easily cover all expenses for about $500 - $600 a month for two people.

Depends where you will live, the cost of food differs greatly from some states to others, also the gas and light bills on northern states are ridiculous,on the other hand, the food prices on the southern states are higher than up north, one of the reasons is that there is not that many major grocery stores competing for customers in the south,Walmarts and HEB dominate in states like Texas with little or no competition, while up north there are several major food outlets to choose from.

Depends on where you live. A low populated area will cost less than a highly populated area. For example, Montana would be cheaper than NY.
