Buying a laptop in France when I live in America

Buying a laptop in France when I live in America?
Well technically I'm not in America; the Caribbean, but we use the same current as America (I just thought that would be too long to put in the question section) So if I bought a laptop in France, could I use it where I live? Or I shouldn't bother? Thanks.

You can use anywhere you live

You can use the laptop anywhere. The issue would be the plug. Also, I know with DVD players they only play dvds from that region (I think there are 12 regions.... Not quite sure), I am not sure if that carries over to computer dvd players. You might also have everything in French and if you want to convert it you would need to see if the laptop would do that. If you are trying to learn or are already fluent in French, that might not be an issue. Best bet would be to purchase one where you live. If there are any issues with it, you can take it back, get it repaired with relatively few problems compared to that of purchasing in a different country.

you might need a power adapter for proper electrical current.
