Where is the best place to live in america

Where is the best place to live in america?
I want to emigrate from England to America when I am older, but I want to start thinking about it now. So, does anyone have any suggestions of places in America I could live that isn't too expensive and is suitable for raising children? Thanks (:

Check out the state of Maine, cold winters but a beautiful state right on the ocean and low crime. They have a motto "Maine the way life should be." I have a 3 year plan that will put me and my family there in 2011. I was born there and have always wanted to go back.Check out the site below, it will give ya a basic idea of what kind of state it is. Good luck, hope to see ya there!

Atlanta, Georgia. Wonderful city!

Live in Western Pennsylvania. (Low in crime, good economy, 5 proportional in length seasons, FRIENDLY people, and an old-fashioned conservative majority.)

California is just really great!!! The weather, the environment, the people, it's all nice. North California is kind of expensive, but the housing prices get cheaper in South California. There's also good schools.

Tennessee is very nice. Te knoxville area especially. You are close to the Smoky mountains, but still in a large city that is not too far from the coasts. The people are real friendly and the area keep nature lively-very green. North Carolina is beautiful too. Southern states are going to have a lower cost of living. I live in Texas and really enjoy it. It's not what it used to be, but still very good. Pretty hot during the summer, but it boasts one of the best economies in the country and maintains a comparably low cost of living. If you want east coast, and don't mind snow and cold I recommend Massachusetts. Schools are great, gorgeous all times of year. Wouldn't necessarily live in Boston, but outside. North east tends to cost more. Colorado is exceptional too. Little more expensive. Truth is there are a lot of great places to live. You can always find a good school and there are usually very nice people in most communities.

Think about Colorado. Fort Collins, it has no weakspots. Colorado Springs is nice, and no, I'm not from Colorado. I am moving to England for 2 years in about 5 weeks. ;)

I would have to agree with the700 on this one. Tennessee is absolutely beautiful, they do not have very bad weather. Their winters do not get horribly bad and their summers aren't terrible either.
