I truly think there are many good reasons to be grateful we live in america.We have a super military and we are a country that works together for good.We do however have the usual ones like others that complain at every small thing or complain at the drop of a hat,But basically we are one great place to live and raise a family do you not agree?

America could be better. Far better. We're currently way behind many countries when it comes to renewable engery and technological advancements, but hopefully we will catch up. I think this is a good place to live, but it could be better. Let's just say ... if McCain had won, I would have been PISSED, but now that Obama will be president, I have some hope.

Depends on your perception of America. If you have only lived in the US, you have a considerable bias in favor of living in America. Myself, I have had the opportunity to live in many nations around the world and the US has many qualities which make it a great place to live. To give you an example, my wife and I met while I was living in Russia. I wanted to return to the US so that I could complete my university degree and we came her in November of last year. We have had so many problems with so many issues that we were ready to go back to Russia because it was easier for us to settle there, rather than the US. So obviously if you use the military argument, along with the idea that American is the greatest place in the world, you have answered your own question. Now set outside of your situation and look at other nations and consider that they are in a great situation too. When I live in Scandinavia, my friends paid nearly 50% taxes on income by the received free health care, free education, worker protection. They did not have to worry about anything. I thin that would be better to have than in America where people struggle to pay for medical expenses and can not go to university because it is too expensive. Plus other nations in the world have a great military. Israel, per capita, has the strongest military in the world. Russia, arguably, has the best nuclear weapons in the world, China the largest army in the world. Many nations have great militaries, it doesn't show that a nation is the best in the world, just shows that that country has money to spend on its military. As for the idea that we work together for good....that is something that is highly debatable. American was founded upon the idea of individual liberty, the idea that a person can start from nothing and become the richest person in the world are American dreams. To say that we work togther, that is absolutely mularkey. Other nations in the world are built around the ide of everyone working together for the common good of the state. In the US, Americans worry about their own security (financial, economic, health, education) and worry about others last. Is America a wonderful place to live? Yes but there are also so many other wonderful places to live that have just as many compelling reasons to think of themselves as wonderful also.
