People outside of America, where do you live and how are gay people treated there

People outside of America, where do you live and how are gay people treated there?
If you live in America you can answer too I suppose. What country do you live in and what area? Are gay people hated on or seen as normal? Do they get killed or thrown in jail? Could a gay couple walk down the street holding hands and feel safe?

Copenhagen, Denmark. Theres generally a good bit of tolerance. Denmark was the first country in the world to recognize same-sex unions back in 89 i think. EU also carried out this survey a few years back asking how people would feel about a homosexual prime minister, in denmark 9/10 responded that they wouldnt have a problem. A majority supports gay marriage. They do not get killed or thrown jail and they can walk down the street holding hands. There has however been a worsening of the situation with increasing reports of hate crimes but generally i would think its pretty safe to be gay.

uae, dubai if you see them in the mall (which happens to me , like, only once every 6 months or smthin) everyone thinks its disgusting and secretly laugh at them. but you know, they do it without making it obvious, because its considered rude to stare/point ur finger/laugh in their faces.but all in all, they are hated.i personally think its disgusting but i wouldnt go as far as to kill them.
