Is it illegal to own a Japanese only video game system if I live in America?
Say, bringing in a Nintendo Famicom if I live in America. While I'm on the subject, is it illegal to own a Japan only game here in America? Will people ever know if I bought one in from there?

Lol nah you're fine. I know many people in USA that have japanese systems (hell they sell them here in certain shops) As for Japanese games, you're fine on that too. I own: Phantasy STar Portable - JP and US Phantasy Star Zero - JP and US Pokemon SoulSilver - JP some Yu-Gi-Oh game (from Japan) an ACTUAL Mah-Jongg game (the 4 player one not the solitaire) from japan. the only illegal thing for video games is Sony hardware and software imported outside of Europe into Europe (something about electronics law that Sony decided they'll follow) but other systems like Nintendo and Microsoft is fine going into Europe. pst. if you want more japanese games/consoles go to www.play-asia.com very good online importing website

No. Its not illegal. Just don't use US games in there, it will most likely cause errors on your system. Don't worry, no laws are broken
