The USA. They drive on the wrong side of the road down under.

You're not exactly correct. if you move to the southeastern usa where i live, or the midwest, yes things are cheaper, but i wouldnt say we are more "tolerant" than aussies, i have met several aussies, and i personally want to move down there, lol want to trade?

Why would you want to live in either? Why not move somewhere interesting: Like Jordan, Botswana, Egypt, Thailand or Bulgaria.

America likes to believe it is the land of the free but it isn't. You have to be 21 to have a drink. You can't drink as you walk. You can't cross the street except where they say you can. You can be arrested and imprisoned without trial on the excuse that they think you may be a terrorist. Your email and web searches are spied on by the government. The road speed limits are pathetic. The entire country is full of arrogant people who all believe they are either Rambo or Shaft. They swallow the Hollywood propaganda that they lead the World when all they lead it in is debt and arrogance. It is also full of midless bible thumping televangelist deluded bigots.

No way, Aus has a better living standard than the USA. Aussies are also much more tolerant of foreigners (unless your a Brit... Which I am lol) than Yanks. Don't do it.

heyy, lol i'm in the same situation as you, i'm living in sydney and also wanna move there, i'm 16 right now, soon to finish highschool. Your right when you say that everything is cheaper in America, that is true. You shouldnt listen to what some of these people say about Americans being rude or watever, Americans are generally friendly, well at least all the ones i've ever come across. I've never actually been to the states, but I have quite a few friends that live here in Sydney that have travelled to America and said that its a cool, interesting and diverse place. I think the best way to decide which country is better is by actually travelling to the US and checking the place out yourself.

Graham H, was also following a bunch of crappy stereo types. If you want to come here no one is stopping you. Anything is what you make of it. You could live a happy life in New York or Sydney. I do think people are accepting of different cultures, but I don't think Australians aren't. 12% of the American population speaks Spanish. It is cheaper right now, even in Cities like Boston or San Francisco. New York and Las Angelouse are very expensive if you want to live well. But you can have a fun life in Manhatten and not be super rich. But dont rely on yahoo answers for a decsion this big. Go on Vacation here a couple times, do some research and see how you like it. There are a lot of people who hate america so I wouldnt get my information from here. People are biassed from both sides. And the standard of living in Austraila isnt any higher than it is here. Thats just false propoganda.

It all depends on where you live. I like living in the us. But where I live isnt the funnest place to live or do stuff. People are pretty tolerant here of cultures because everyone basically came from another culture. Im technically Greek. Ive never been to Australia but I would like to go! =D
