How many people live in America?
I really don't mean to offend, but i've been to America, and so many people have asked me if I know anyone called 'whatever' (random name) as I'm from England and they know people there. Do people in America know that there are over 60 million people in my country (over 1,000,000 live within London (sometimes known as 'the square mile') alone!)? I know my country is small in comparison, but I was just wondering! I was always too polite to say anything but 'no, sorry, I don't' - I truly don't mean to offend!

United States People: Population: 295,734,134 (July 2005 est.) I have been asked that whilst in the US, too. I think it's because in comparison, our country is pretty tiny. It's easy to see why they would assume that we all know each other!
