Do you have a medical insurance covers your expenses here in Canada? You will not be eligible for Canadian medical insurance. If you don't have any insurance from the States you will have to pay the entire cost yourself. Depending on whether there are complications the bill could be very very high.

The people of Canada are not going to foot the bill for you to have your baby. You will have to pay it.

You pay the whole bill. [If by any chance you do not pay the bill, it will affect your credit in the USA.]

Verify with whomever provides your travel insurance that they cover this type of hospital stay. Don't risk getting stuck with the bill. They'll want you to pay before leaving the hospital. You can pay by check, or arrange to have your insurance company pay directly, if they work that way.

Make sure you have good travel insurance, because your baby will get the best medical care Canada can offer -but you will pay for it. Only Canadian citizens get free medical care. If you are going to Canada around the time your baby is due, I hope you aren't flying, because many airlines won't take women who are in the last part of their final trimester.

The important thing to keep in mind is that your baby would be a Canadian citizen if it is born in Canada.

Are you kidding me? Trying to use the Canadian healthcare system to your own ends...you should be ashamed of yourself! You live in the US, so have your child there and PAY FOR IT YOURSELF! I can't stand people like you... Greedy *****!

You may not be able to cross the border to get into Canada if you are that far along in your pregnancy. Canadian officials are trying to prevent people like you from sucking off our already overstressed health care system. Why should we for over our tax dollars to pay for your baby's birth?

You know there is no hospital bills in Canada. If you are taken in the ambulance you will be sent a bill, but they wont make you pay it. Don't come here to have your baby because you don't want to pay a hospital bill.

I think there should be restrictions about pregnant women coming to Canada. Their due date should be 2 months away after their departure. Cdn-Gal
